History and Culture
The Koutoubia The magnificent 12th Century Mosque which was the Jewel of the Almohad Dynasty.
Saadien Tombs Richly ornate royal tombs housing the grand rulers of the Saadien Dynasty.
Ben Youseef Medersa A remarkable Medersa from the Merinid era dating back to the 14th Century. It has more than 130 dormitories built around an impressive marble paved patio.
Palais Bahia Ancient residence of a golden era, with patios, interior courtyards and surrounded by cypress trees.
Palais Badi A historic site of what was once a opulent palace full of Italian marble, Irish granite and multi coloured onyx from the Indies adorning the walls and ceilings.
Museums
Dar Si Said Houses Southern Moroccan art and rich Berber artisanal work.
Musee Marrakech Has regular expositions of contemporary paintings and sculpture.
Gardens
Majorelle Jardin, Yves Saint Laurent’s beautiful lush gardens are located just outside the medina. The gardens also house the excellent Museum of Islamic Art.
Menara Gardens, located outside the medina is an impressive 12th Century 3 hectare basin with ancient olive trees.
